Related to the Doppelganger, the Jealous Watcher as it is known is shunned by most all creatures, due to it's foul appearance. This gives them the impetus for their evil. A Jealous Watcher can Hide In Shadows and Move Silently a 5th level Thief, and will follow a party of adventurers with any member who possesses a Charisma greater than 13. The Jealous Watcher will observe and attempt to duplicate that person's appearance as a Doppelganger. Once it surmises it can do so effectively, it will attempt to murder and dispose of the body of that person and step in to their existence. However, every week the Jealous Watcher lives it's new identity, it must make a saving throw versus Magic. If the roll fails, the Watcher no longer has the ability to replicate the appearance and will shift back to it's natural countenance - a horrid, mangled face that appears as though the skin itself has been coarsely ripped away, leaving open wounds and exposed muscle tissue and veins.

If the Jealous Watcher is so discovered, it will fly into a rage and attack any who see it in that state. All Jealous Watchers believe that there is one living human, demihuman or humanoid they can perfectly copy and are obsessive about finding this individual and taking their lives - in every way. They are so hated by Doppelgangers that those creatures will sometimes drop their own charade to expose the Jealous Watcher for what it is.

The Jealous Watcher can wield most weapons with equal skill.
